What I Got For Christmas 2017

Since my biggest present was our Disneyland Resort Paris trip a few days before christmas, I didn't expect to get more presents on Christmas Eve. Nonetheless I had some gifts to unwrap, which I will show in the following.

First of all I got the tickets, flights, and what not on the 22nd, the day of our flight. A recap with my highlights will soon be up on the blog. On the right side is a 25 anniversary Disneyland Resort Paris Bowl that I got from my neighbours who travelled with us. This will forever remind me of our wonderful trip.
Next to it is my beloved Audrey Hepburn Rubin Collection, which I talked about in this blogpost

My two new Filofax planner pages I get every single christmas because I basically can not live without them, haha.
A Lucie Kaas Karl Lagerfeld Kokeshi Doll I first saw at Illum Bolighus in Copenhagen and had on my wish list ever since.
A lovely  Henri Bendel Vanity Tray.

And last but not least, three new books!
The first book is New York Christmas Baking, which is a new addition to the New York Christmas cookbooks. I am planning on test baking in the new year.
Then I got Vogue On - Manolo Blahnik from my sister. I'm very excited to read it, especially because we once met Manolo Blahnik himself at Bergdorf Goodman in New York a few years ago. I believe the book is a mixture of interviews, backstage stories, and Pictures from his design featured in Vogue and sketches like the one on the cover.
And finally: Paris Through A Fashion Eye by Megan Hess. I skipped through the pages and already saw her beautiful sketches and interesting tips for Museums in and around Paris.

What did you get for christmas?

I hope you had lovely festive days and will dance through the night to welcome the new year.
Love, Laura

Christmas Tea Time - Sylt

I can't believe christmas is only two days away - and what's even more astounding: that I am on a plane in less than seven hours! We will be flying to Paris, or more exactly to Disneyland Paris, to (pre-)celebrate their 25th anniversary, christmas, and our friendship.
But let's get back to the actual topic: my last weekend in Sylt.

We only stayed for two days due to work and school but had a relaxing weekend in cozy Keitum. As we always do, we ended our trip with a visit at the Kleine Teestube, just a few meters away from our lovely hotel.

It is the perfect place to warm up after a gloomy walk along the shore as they have a wide selection of tea, a few cakes and warming foods like soup. They have a huge terrace for the warmer months but used it this time as a christmas market with mulled wine and eggnog.

The inside of the cafe is quite kitschy with little figurines and quotes everywhere. I guess that the chairs and tables were found on a flea market 'cause they mismatch, which adds even more charm ,in my opinion. They also exhibit different german artists which pictures you can buy and this season they had lovely flower paintings. Sadly the light inside was quite bad so the pictures didn't turn out well.

Even though the island was not as decorated as I imagined, the Kleine Teestube met my expectations. We also were quite lucky that it started to snow a little during nighttime, as you can see on the bird house behind me.

Now I really need some rest for the next few exciting days! And I can't wait until I see the over-the-top decorations in person.
I hope you are having stressless days and can enjoy the season. And don't forget to blast One More Sleep through your speakers, the time is right! ;)

Love, Laura
